Terms of Service

Last updated April 23, 2026

By downloading, installing, or using Klipt, or by using the klipt.sh website and services, you agree to these terms. Klipt is provided by Sidejar LLC ("we", "us"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, don't use the app or the service.

What Klipt is

Klipt is a macOS menu-bar screenshot tool. You press a keyboard shortcut, capture a screen region, and optionally upload the result to a short klipt.sh/<slug> URL that you can share.

Your content is yours

You retain all rights to every screenshot you capture with Klipt. We don't claim ownership of your content.

To make the share feature work, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to store, transmit, and serve the screenshots you choose to upload, solely for the purpose of making the share URL resolve to the image you shared.

What you can't do

Don't use Klipt or klipt.sh to:

  • upload, share, or host content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, abusive, hateful, or that sexually exploits minors;
  • upload malware, phishing content, or anything designed to harm another person's computer, identity, or property;
  • upload content that you don't have the right to share, including screenshots of someone else's private communications;
  • abuse the upload service (unreasonable request volume, scripted scraping, attempts to bypass rate limits or reverse-engineer Klipt's internal systems);
  • resell, repackage, or white-label the Klipt service as your own without a separate written agreement with us.

We may remove content or revoke device tokens that violate these terms, without notice.

No accounts yet

Klipt does not require you to create an account. Your Mac installs a random device token on first launch, and that's how we recognize your uploads. If we add accounts later (for team features or paid tiers), we'll update these terms and let you know in-app.

Pricing

Klipt is free today. If we launch a paid Pro tier, existing free users will keep free access to the features they have on the day Pro ships. Paid subscriptions, when they exist, will be billed through a third-party payment processor (Stripe or Paddle); those processors' terms will apply to the payment relationship.

Service provided as-is

Klipt and the klipt.sh service are provided "as is" and "as available". We don't guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that shared URLs will be accessible indefinitely. We may change or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Sidejar LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of Klipt or the klipt.sh service, including loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption.

Our total cumulative liability for any claim related to Klipt is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim — which, for the free tier, is zero.

Termination

You can stop using Klipt at any time — delete the app and your local captures disappear with it. We can suspend or terminate your ability to use the upload service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you've violated these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be heard in the state or federal courts of Colorado, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

Changes to these terms

We'll post updated terms here with a new "Last updated" date. If the change is material, we'll also note it in the release notes of the next Klipt update. Continuing to use Klipt after the change means you accept the new terms.
